In this documentary film - part of the Extraordinary People strand for Five - a team of the world's leading cranio-facial surgeons travel to Da Nang, Vietnam, to help children with facial deformities.

The surgeons will be in Vietnam for less than a week, and in that time expect to see many dozen children and adults, operating on as many as possible within that limited time. By giving these children access to the very best surgery, the quality of their lives is radically changed too.

The team of surgeons and doctors, headed up by Niall Kirkpatrick and Simon Eccles, are all London-based colleagues but most importantly they're friends first. It's their friendship, trust and support of each other that makes it possible for them to attempt this extraordinary feat.

As Niall says, "we're going out there to help these children, but we'll be the ones who come back changed. We learn so much from them."

The film was made in collaboration with the charity Facing The World.
